Individuals desiring to enroll in schools, universities, or other educational institutions within this country are eligible to acquire a South African study visa.

The educational pursuits are not restricted to full-time commitments, and recipients of a study visa for higher education are permitted to engage in part-time employment for up to 20 hours weekly. Notably, as of May 2014, new stipulations mandate that only studies at appropriately registered schools qualify, and students must secure medical aid coverage from a provider registered in South Africa.
